An air quality alert has been issued for Franklin County and much of central Ohio as smoke from wildfires in Canada continue to move into parts of the United States. The Environmental Protection Agency's Fire and Smoke Map shows that the Air Quality Index for parts of Columbus are as high as 154 AQI as of Tuesday afternoon. According to the National Weather Service Wilmington Office, smoke from fires is observable via satellite and is causing haze Tuesday in Indiana and parts of southwestern and central Ohio.
