COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State wrestler Sammy Sasso was shot in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday night as confirmed by Lehigh Valley Live's Brad Wilson. The sixth-year senior was the victim of a shooting during a robbery attempt. He underwent surgery after the shooting and then again Saturday morning. A source close to the family told Lehigh Valley Live that he is expected to make a full recovery and wrestle again. 'Ohio State student-athlete Sammy Sasso was the victim of a senseless shooting incident Friday evening in Columbus,' Ohio State wrestling coach Tom Ryan said in a statement.
